Road Trip-Tips Tricks and Outfits

Wanting to look put together yet be uberly comfortable? These are my go to pieces that you can’t go wrong with. These shots were taken as I was getting ready to jump into a car for a long road trip back to my hometown for a family visit. I wanted to look stylish yet not feel restricted while sitting in a car for hours on end . Did I mention I was dressed and car loaded up with our bags in less than 20 mins?

Quick.

Easy.

Out the door.

It’s still chilly in Ohio so I needed to layer up. Not to mention, layering is one of my favorite ways to bring more on trips without packing it! See more tips below. I have on a basic white tee that peeks out from under my crew neck sweatshirt. Helps to break up the black on black look. Then paired it with my go-to comfy LuLuLemon leggings. We all have that pair we basically live in – ha.

Best thing about this look is that each piece can be worn separately on my travels and doesn’t need to be packed!

Leopard Sneakers

These shoes from Walmart are the perfect selection for road trips or traveling. They are not only super comfy, but they can easily be slipped on and off. Thats a big thing for me, I hate tying shoes and I love taking my shoes off during a long road trip (when I’m not the one driving of course -ha)

Check out so many other Walmart shoes I found for under $15 HERE.
Beanie

Always packing a beanie when it comes to cold weather travels. It so simple to add to my look when I don’t have time to style my hair but need to be out the door. Not to mention it keeps you warm!

Amazon Sherpa Jacket

One of the best purchases I made off Amazon was this sherpa jacket. It comes fully lined on the inside. The outside is as soft as your favorite teddy bear and it’s the perfect length. The only downside to this jacket, if I had to pick one, is there is no button closure. Other than that, I love the large side pockets and how warm it keeps me.

It might just be me, but I never hit the road without one of my pairs of sunglasses. Whether I am driving or riding, you will kick yourself if you don’t pack them. Easy to keep in the car or throw in the tote bag.

Road Trip Tips

1. Dress in layers! This helps when packing. You can wear all the pieces you want without taking up space in your bag. I like to pick my travel outfits by layering items I know I will wear other times on my trip.

2. Always keep a tote bag up front with you in the car or in reachable distance in the back seat. This way you can have easy access while traveling to snacks, headphones, charger or even a book or magazine. I also use this tote for tolitries. This was if we stop as a rest stop or gas station and I want to freshen up, I don’t have to go digging through my suitcase.

3.Download your favorite podcasts while you are connected to Wifi before you hit the road. It is the absolute worst when you want to listen to you next crime cast but its not downloaded. Trust me. Also bring headphones, sometimes you just don’t want to listen to whatever the other person is listening to in the car.

4. Just a nice reminder that neck pillows are not just for planes. They are great for sleeping, neck support and you can even slide it down the seat for lumbar support. It really helps!
